Angul : Golden Girl of Angul District, Dibyasha priyadarshini chopdar who was born at Talcher, a coal town in Angul district, has brought the name of the region to light by winning a gold medal in shooting sport . Ms. Dibyasha has lit up the name of the entire district by winning this gold medal in the prestigious 2nd State Open Shooting Championship held in Bhubaneswar. After the news spread, he received many greetings and greetings from the industrial city. Talcher Naresh Shri Vijayendra Chandra Deb Birbar Harichandan felicitated him by awarding him a gold medal with a certificate at
Bhubaneswar. Odisha Olympic Association president Sameer Mohanty and sports guru Hariprasad Patnaik have praised Dibyasha’s shooting style and wished her further progress. It is worth noting that when Dibyasha was in class 6th continuosly she has been winning five times gold medals upto till date.Now she , by playing at the national level Pistol shooting in the ISSF category and qualifying for the selection trials to join the Indian team. Dibyasha says that shooting is an expensive sport. It costs a lot to training and also to participate in competitions.
Till date my coach is my father, he trained me to play both in rifle and pistol and took me to national level. But now I need high level training, so I request Odisha government and many private corporate institutions to arrange a high level training for me,so that my dream of winning a medal for the country in the Olympics in the coming days will be fulfilled. recommended my request to NTPC, Kaniha, but more than a year has passed and no response has been While , three years ago Jindal Steel & Power (JSP)has given the expenses to participate in the National Championship held at Bhopal after that no help was given by them and their Angul Head of CSR Mr.Jayanta Mohanty says that,we have not yet any buget for shooting sports event.Whereas Dibyasha is the first shooter from the district who participated in the 37th National Games, Goa and competed with Olympians and world record-breaking shooters. As they practiced with advanced equipment, advanced coaching and with full of practices at advanced shooting electronic based ranges, whereas Dibyasha wearing all her desi equipment just like she wears a elastic eyeris instead of the shooter eyeris and with canvas shoes not only that with a old pistol , she representing Odisha in such a big competition, competitors from other states were laughing over them and criticised them.Seeing all this, TTPS, (NTPC) and NTPC, Kaniha, & Tanvi Sangam who extended their helping hand in shooting equipment. I must be very thankful to them.
